FFIPP-I co-sponsored a joint action by Palestinian and Israeli students at the Atara checkpoint, June 3, 2006

A nonviolent demonstration was held at Atara checkpoint on June 3rd to protest against the Israeli Occupation Forces' preventing students from reaching their universities and schools. Palestinian and Israeli students, including Palestinian Israelis, were joined by international peace activists at the Atara checkpoint, on the road to Bir Zeit University.

New: Summer Internship Program for International Students in Palestine/Israel
Please inform your students about this new program. Students will be placed in art and culture centers in the occupied territories, such as the Freedom Theatre in Jenin, <http://www.thefreedomtheatre.org/>, and UNESCO Chair on Human Rights, Democracy and Peace, An Najah National University, Nablus. Students will also be placed in summer camps for children, and with peace and justice organizations in Palestine/Israel such as Machsom Watch and B’Tselem. The program is planned for July and August 2006.
